Do You Need Help Writing Blurbs?
A lot of fiction authors find writing blurbs or book descriptions difficult. We can write a novel that is 60,000 words long – or perhaps double that – but we struggle to write a couple of hundred words to promote our books to reader. Why is it so hard?
There are a couple of reasons, one simple and practical and one deeper and a little more complex. In Blurbs & Book Descriptions (2025) I tackle both of these. I give you the basic copywriting skills you need to write a successful blurb and I look at the psychological aspect that might be giving you writer’s block when you sit down to write your blurb.
The book is available now in print and ebook editions
It should also be available on other Amazon sites internationally.
There is also a ‘Virtual Voice’ audiobook edition available in the USA on Amazon and Audible. You should be able to pick this up for a couple of dollars if you buy the ebook version. Unfortunately, these audio versions are not yet available outside the USA.
As with most of my other non fiction books, I’ve put a resources page on my website. You can access it here: paultomlinson.org/blurbs
